Sacraments

“For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.”

Galatians 3:27

The celebration of the Sacraments...

is integral to the life of our Maronite Catholic community. Through the Sacraments we encounter God's life and love in a real way in our own lives. They give us both the grace to live the Christian life and to share it with others.

Baptism and Confirmation

Baptism is the foundation of the whole of Christian life – the gateway to life in the Holy Spirit and the door which gives access to the other sacraments.  It is a sacrament of initiation through which a person is reborn as a daughter or son of God and begins his or her formal relationship with Jesus Christ and the Church.

First Communion and Reconciliation

Catholics believe the Eucharist, or Communion, is both a sacrifice and a meal. We believe in the real presence of Jesus, who died for our sins. As we receive  Christ’s Body and Blood, we also are nourished spiritually and brought closer to God. The Eucharist is Jesus’ presence with us and among us in our celebration of Mass. Preparation for First Eucharist and Reconciliation take place for students in Grade 3.

Weddings

This sacrament is the beginning of your life-long commitment and it is rooted in love of God and supported by the community of faith. The exchange of marriage vows in the sacrament is a pledge to love, respect and nurture each other all the days of your life together. A lead time of at least six months is required in order that proper preparation may be made for the Celebration of the Sacrament.

Anointing of the Sick

The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is offered to all those who suffer from serious illness and to those in danger of death. If you or your loved one needs anointing please contact the parish so that one of the priests may come to them to celebrate the sacrament.

Funerals Arrangements

If God has called your loved one home please know that we are very sorry for your loss and we will be keeping you and your family in our prayers. We would like to be a support to you through this difficult time. The Catholic liturgy always provides courage and comfort for those mourning the death of a loved one.
